The clamp type butterfly valve is one of the commonly used butterfly valves, named after its structural form where the stem axis, butterfly plate center, and body center are in the same position. The structure of the clamp butterfly valve is very simple, and installation and maintenance are also very convenient. As a component for controlling the on/off and flow rate of pipeline systems, clamp butterfly valves are widely used in pipeline systems in the fields of petroleum, chemical, hydropower, municipal construction, water supply and drainage.
The sealing form of the clamp butterfly valve is generally soft seal, and the sealing material includes rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene, so the clamp butterfly valve is usually a soft seal butterfly valve. The advantage of this type of valve is that the seals can be replaced, the sealing performance is excellent and reliable, zero leakage can be achieved, and bidirectional sealing can be achieved. However, due to the limitations of its structural ourphpacteristics, clamp butterfly valves also have some disadvantages. As the butterfly plate and valve seat of the valve are always in a state of compression and scratching, with a large resistance distance, the wear on the butterfly plate and valve seat is very large. Therefore, in order to overcome the compression and scratching phenomenon and ensure the sealing performance of the valve, elastic materials such as rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene are used for the valve seat of clamp butterfly valves to ensure the sealing performance of the valve. However, materials such as rubber and polytetrafluoroethylene are limited by temperature during use, so the disadvantage of clamp type butterfly valves is that they are not resistant to high temperatures.
The clamp type butterfly valve is not suitable for high temperature and high pressure working environments, has poor wear resistance, and has a short service life. These disadvantages limit the applicability of the valve to a certain extent. In order to overcome this problem, there is now a three eccentric metal hard sealed clamped butterfly valve. The stem axis of the three eccentric metal hard sealed clamped butterfly valve deviates from both the center of the butterfly plate and the center of the body, and the valve seat rotation axis has a certain angle with the valve body channel axis. The three eccentric butterfly valve is more resistant to high temperatures and also has good sealing performance, with a longer service life.
